# Records and fields
## Current type vocabulary
The current grammar names these record types: knowledge (`K`), decision (`D`), evidence (`E`), context (`C`), history (`H`), goal (`G`), task (`T`), blocker (`B`), requirement (`R`), risk (`X`), assumption (`A`), metric (`M`), event (`V`), artifact (`F`), person (`P`), agent (`AG`), project (`PR`), system (`SYS`), service (`SVC`), component (`CMP`), source (`SRC`), run (`RUN`), asset (`ASSET`), and relation (`REL`). These identifiers describe data; they do not impose workflow or access policy.
## Fields
Use `t` for the one-line title; `d` for description; `x` for status; `p` for priority; `owner` for responsibility; repeatable `tag` and `source` values for classification/provenance; and `ref` for a URI or asset path. Metric records use literal `value`, `unit`, and optional `observed`. Task records may use `due`; event records may use `at`. Dates and quantities remain source strings.
Common statuses include open, active, blocked, completed, accepted and superseded. New status text is retained rather than silently mapped. A task checklist is still task records with status; there is no separate checkbox syntax.
## IDs and references
Every record has a unique stable ID within its document, distinct from the document ID. Renaming a title does not change that identity. A local link target is a same-document ID; `document-id/entity-id` addresses a record in another document.
## Valid example
```text
@gram 2
doc launch-notes
t Launch notes
T review
t Review the export
x active
d Compare the regenerated file with the source artifact.
M export-count
t Exported records
value 14
unit records
observed 2026-10-12T09:00:00Z
```
The number, date, and status in this example remain literal field values. Core parses and preserves them; the consuming view decides how to display recognized forms.
