# Document views and the shared record vocabulary

<div class="gram-doc-anchor" id="e0-blog-view-templates"></div>

## Document views and the shared record vocabulary {#h0-1}

The current product does not offer separate document templates for project, schedule, or knowledge files. Every document uses one shared record vocabulary. A client displays the document using its current content; an older template declaration does not change the records a person or AI can write.

### Keep each record accurate {#h0-3}

Use a decision for a choice, a task for agreed work, a risk for something that may go wrong, and evidence for information that supports a claim. Preserve the status and dates actually provided. A proposed decision is not accepted, a mitigated risk is still open, and missing evidence does not prove a claim.

### Read the document, not an old template name {#h0-6}

Older documents may retain declarations such as `schedule@1`, `project@1`, or `knowledge@1`. These are retired; they are not selectable current templates or a separate data model. The canonical document keeps its content and every revision, while clients present the current view.

For the current record vocabulary and typed writes, see the [Thegram format and record guide](/reference/records-guide/).
